Dr. Gulliver earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He then served a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
His areas of special interest include:

- Peripheral arterial angioplasty and stenting
- Transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography
- Nuclear cardiology
